#04 Field Spotting Etiquette & Aviation Security Protocol

Carry Official Photo ID
Always carry government-issued photo identification or a passport. Airport police patrols routinely verify identities of spotters near perimeter fences. Maintain a polite and cooperative attitude.
Respect Perimeter Fences
Never touch, lean ladders against, or touch motion sensor wires along airport perimeter fences. In many jurisdictions (such as the UK, US, and Germany), tampering with security fencing is a federal offense.
Leave No Trace
Pack out all rubbish, food containers, and lens packaging. Aviation vantage points are easily lost if local municipalities receive litter or parking complaints from neighborhood residents.
